JEANELITA JAYONA
*Del Pilar Academy Class IV-E
Jean was born in Tagaytay City on March 16, 1962. She moved to Imus, Cavite
when she was one-year old when her father, who is now a retired Philippine
Constabulary, was based at Camp Pantaleon Garcia. She attended her primary
education at Imus Pilot Elementary School prior to attending Del Pilar Academy
High School.
After her high school graduation Jean decided to join a band in Manila which
started her career as a professional singer. In 1979, she began working in a
group band playing concerts between Japan and the Philippines. Then in 1980,
she got married to Ramon and they had three (3) children together. But
unfortunately, as time passed by, their relationship began to drift apart so they
decided to separate.
For 17 years, Jean continued working as a professional singer in different
countries. Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and China were
the majority of her gigs where conducted. Then during one beautiful day in
Johor Bahru, Malaysia, she met her love of her life - Richard Clements. They
are happily married, have to beautiful children and decided to remain in the
Philippines for good.
Currently, Jean keeps busy by being pro-active with DELPA meetings and
enjoying the company of our batchmates. She is also a very active member of a
local church and serving the Lord with the talents He gave her – her heavenly
singing voice! It was when she finally discovered God that she found the true
meaning of life and its real worth.
