*Del Pilar Academy Class 1978 IV-B
After high school, Susan studied at University of Santo Tomas and graduated in
1982 with Bachelors in Nursing degree. She passed the board thereafter but
unable to obtain her license to work because she was underage. While awaiting to
be 21 years old, she joined the UST Surgical and Medical Mission and traveled to
many far flung provinces of the Philippines for several months delivering much
needed healthcare. At last, when she received her license to practice, she trained
as a Critical Care Nurse at Philippine Heart Center for Asia and worked there for
about over a year.
Along with other four nurses in 1985, she was sponsored to work at Bronx
Municipal Hospital in New York as a Critical Care RN. She then transferred to
Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan in their CardioThoracic Surgical ICU.
In 1987, she relocated to Los Angeles and worked in different hospitals
specializing in Emergency and Critical Care nursing. She got married to her
wonderful husband Curtis in 1992 and they now have three beautiful girls: Arielle-
14, Robyn-12, and Morgan-10. Currently, she is residing in Chino Hills and works
at California Hospital Medical Center as a Resource RN and as a Critical Care
Transport Nurse with Schaefer Ambulance. Between work and driving her kids to
soccer, violin, drums etc., she plans to go back to school and take Imaging
Classes this fall.
Her main goal is to successfully raise her kids with good hearts and not only have
a desire to be something, but have guts to go after what they aspire to be.
Her personal wish is to have more free time and be financially independent so that
she will be able to do volunteer works to help others by using what she knows
best… Nursing!
